As a Training provider we are often asked many questions, I have listed some common questions they are as follows:

Due to the "Equality Act" there are no minimum age limits for obtaining either a CPCS or NPORS Trained or Competent Operators card,  but  the Schemes "rules, Polices and Procedures" must be complied with at all times.
The legal requirement for the operation of Plant and Equipment is that employees must be adequately "Trained and Authorised" to operate the specific item of plant as required by Regulation 9 of the "Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998".

Which means in general terms candidates should be at least school leaving age prior to receiving any training on any of our categories, although riding on or driving Agricultural tractors carries a legal requirment of being age 13

Some work sites or employers may impose specific age limits due to insurance requirements whereby clarification should be sought from both before allowing any Tractor driving on farms or sites, driving on the public highway carries its own legal requirements

Age 18 and over,
This is the age when most Plant Operators begin their Construction Career by working their way through the various stages of Training, companies in scope with CITB can claim grants for most activities but there are certain requirements to meet.
Employers may also see potential in an employee and make the opportunity available in all Consstruction activities and not only the Plant operating side of the industry.those that may have been lucky enough to have been included in and apprenticship will have the oportunity to progress and be able to get employment following the apprenticeship period.

As well as a CPCS & NPORS Test Centre for Plant Opertors, CCM Ltd are an accredited NVQ Assessment Centre with more than one awarding body, this enables the flexibilty of levels of Qualifications, costs and speed of Certification delivery, which is all very important to the customer who sometimes leave everything until the last minute due to their busy lives.
Some operators that have not already achieved an NVQ will be required to undertake the qualification as listed.
