CPCS A17 Telescopic Forklift  Training up to 4 Days.
The requirements of this training course is for candidates with little or no experience in operations of a Telescopic Handler.

 

Following the required training, the candidates will have demonstrated their knowledge and understanding of how to:

  • Carry out pre start and running checks on the machine:

  • How to prepare and set up the machine travel over varying terrain without and with loads on the forks:

  • How to steer using different settings of a Telescopic Handler in a confined space both forward & reverse and crab steer:

  • Place loads on vehicles & Loading Tower to within 75% of full working range of the machine:

  • Set up a machine to lift various loads carry over varying work areas and obstructions:

  • Whilst ensuring the load is secure and undamaged:

  • Observing overhead dangers and ensuring safe working practices:

  • At the end on the day out of service and secure conditions:

  • Following safe loading and unloading procedures with regard to types of vehicles:

  •  Upon completion of the required guided learning hours the Candidate will be issued with a Training Certificate which will allow them to proceed towards the CPCS Theory & Practical standard technical test.
     

  • For the experienced Operator
    Who will be familiar with the full operation of a Telescopic Handler and will be able to proceed direct to the CPCS Theory & Practical test providing the CSCS Health & Safety test is current (Taken within the last 2 years).

  • CPCS Standard Technical Test
    Theory test -  Is an oral questioning session with time allowed of up to 1hr to answer questions on the Telescopic Forklift, candidates must pass this test before any practical test can be undertaken.

  • Practical test - A specific practical test for Telescopic Handler to be undertaken in the time allowed of 2hrs, upon completion of both parts of the technical test a CPCS 'Trained Operator' card, or if an NVQ has already been achieved, a Competent Operator card  be applied for.
