Training
This training
activity is for potential and existing operators who have
received no formal instruction and those requiring refresher
training:
This is a standard item of equipment, therefore
training will be in accordance to the operators previous
experience or requirements,
followed up by the Theory & Practical Test,
Whereby the Construction Card Competence Scheme (CPCS)
2 year Trained Operator card will be
attained, it should also be noted that the achievement and the
obtaining of a CPCS card are dependant upon passing the Health
and Safety Test prior to the Technical Tests,
there are no other pre requirements prior to undertaking the
tests.
The updating of the red Trained Operator card to a CPCS
Competency Card is dependant upon completion of
the NVQ Diploma
Level 2 within 2
years of attaining the Trained Operator Card.
The
course content will include: Training in the safe operation
of the machine on all tasks for which the machine has been
designed for; ensuring that during the machines operation it is
used in a safe and productive manner,
Stability and safe
transportation of materials around the worksite is essential as part of this operation, Carrying out routine daily servicing
procedures and general maintenance in accordance with the
manufacturers instructions; Also preparing the equipment for
driving on public highways, and work sites where applicable, the
Road Traffic Acts apply; The purpose
and capabilities of their machine and any relevant safety
precautions necessary for its operation; How the machine is set
up for work and the maintenance requirements involved; The
effects of uneven surfaces and terrain
keeping the machine under control.
Outcome:
Blue 5 year
CPCS Competence card will be attained if the NVQ
Diploma credits has been achieved prior to any tests
Red 2 Year CPCS Trained Operator card
will be attained if tested without
achievement of the NVQ diploma
Standard CCM Certification is also available for in house
requirements.
